Pupil Leadership
At Great Kimble C of E School, our vision of Big Hearts, Bold Futures guides how we help children grow as confident, responsible individuals. Through opportunities such as democratic voting to appoint our Agents for Change and House Captains, pupils learn to use their voice, develop leadership skills and understand the importance of fairness and responsibility. These experiences support their personal development and gently introduce key British Values in a meaningful, child-centred way.
House Captains
Hawks: Shahzad (captain) and Trudi (vice)
Eagles: Samuel (captain) and Finn (vice)
Kites: Phoebe (captain) and Betsy (vice)
Falcons: Evie (captain) and Mia (vice)
The school Houses were introduced in September 2022 as we welcomed our first year 6 cohort to the the school. Pupils were chosen by their classmates to represent one of four Houses. The children, parents, staff and governors then put forward suggestions for House names, which were then voted on. With a landslide vote the Houses were then named after British birds.
The role of House and Vice House Captains are ones of privilege, pride and responsibility. They are more than just a title and badge and require dedication and commitment for an entire year.

Characteristics of House and Vice House Captains
Polite and well-mannered.
Organised and committed.
A confident speaker.
Well-presented in uniform and appearance.
Able to liaise and converse with staff, students and the wider community.
Desire to act responsibly and to be a role model for other students.
Be caring, mature and honest.
We expect you:
To be a positive role model and ambassador for the school, demonstrating our school values (forgiveness, endurance, hope, thankfulness, respect, love).
To be enthusiastic and committed to the House System at Great Kimble School.
To be friendly and positive with all students, particularly within your House.
To be part of the team of House Captains who work together to achieve success for all.
Attendance is in line with school and government expectations.
Role Description
Duties:
Lead and support the children of your House in a variety of House Competitions.
Help organise and lead regular House Meetings.
Collect, monitor and announce Kimble Stars.
Inspire the children of your House.
Be an excellent role model in behaviour, attitude and dress at all times.
Be available for ‘out of school’ events such as fetes, after school clubs etc.
Agents for Change

Agents for Change are a group created to ensure positive change in themselves, their community and the planet.
We meet weekly to discuss what we can do and take action.
We follow our toolkit of windows, mirrors and doors.
We consider what we need as individuals, what the community needs and the UN goals.
As a small school, we also take on roles which would usually be undertaken by school council, eco warriors and junior leadership teams.
Digital Leaders
Through an application process, we have digital leaders at school who receive training to support other pupils with devices, promote online safety and look after equipment.
Wellbeing Warriors
At Great Kimble C of E School, we believe that happy, healthy minds help children to flourish. Our Wellbeing Warriors play an important role in supporting pupil mental health by promoting kindness, friendship and positive coping strategies across the school. By listening, encouraging and helping others feel included, our Wellbeing Warriors empower pupils to look after themselves and each other, building confidence, resilience and a strong sense of belonging.
Lunch Time Helpers
Lunch time is a busy time for us and our pupils, with their big hearts, love nothing more than helping - they get involved with serving, organising and clearing up.
Toy Shed Monitors
On a lunch time rota, there's always a group who help tidy the equipment and keep the toy shed organised - they also ensure equipment is safe and throw anything that isn't fit for purpose.
