Below you can find some key information about what we will be learning together this half-term.

Helpful Hints: 

• Please ensure that all uniform, water bottles and bags are clearly named.
• In Earth class, we play outside whatever the weather, so please make sure your child has a suitable coat, sun hat and a water bottle (Learning through Play is thirsty work!)
• Once introduced – reading books will be changed weekly. We aim to read with children twice a week.
• When books are sent home, reading should be a daily occurrence. Ideally, your child should be reading aloud to an adult every day. This should be recorded in the reading record.
• Visits to Smokey Row will be on a Friday.
• PE will be on a Thursday.
• A Library session will take place each week.

• Get to know our new friends, our teachers and our new routines.
• Exploring our emotions, feelings and self-regulation strategies.
• Talk about what makes us special and share our wonderful families with each other. 
• Understanding the importance of respectful relationships.
• Investigate our amazing bodies and senses.
• Talking about Religion & Worldviews and the importance of respecting differing beliefs.
• Exploring media and materials through our 'Amazing Me' theme. 
• Building our fine motor skills through our daily handwriting sessions (pre-handwriting mark making).
• Begin our Bug Club journey by working through Phase 2.
• Developing our early Book Talk, Oracy Skills and Early Writing using our new stories 'The Way I Feel' and 'Giraffes Can't Dance'. 
• Investigate matching, comparing, sorting, early number composition, measures and patterns during White Rose Maths lessons.
