  • Promoting British Values

Along with other schools within the Great Learners Trust, Great Kimble takes our responsibility to promote community cohesion and generate respect for difference and individual rights seriously. We actively promote the fundamental British values of:

    • Democracy
    • Rule of law
    • Individual liberty
    • Mutual respect
    • Tolerance of different faiths and beliefs

Pupils are encouraged to regard people of all faiths, races and cultures with respect and tolerance and understand that while different people may hold different views about what is ‘right’ and ‘wrong’, all people living in England are subject to its law. British Values are embedded throughout the curriculum, assemblies, enrichment activities and the wider life of the school to ensure young people leave prepared for life in modern Britain.

Our broad curriculum encourages pupils to reflect upon their role in a diverse society and the school promotes British values through:

    • Agents for Change that is voted in by their respective class
    • A curriculum that covers global citizenship
    • Weekly discussions in worship and newsround
    • Listening to pupil and parent voice
    • Our school vision and values
    • Following expectations and rules
    • Modelling behaviour
    • Learning about different demographics
    • Taking part in Parliament week
