Welcome to Summer 2, 2026!

During this half term, we will be…

  • Writing fantasy stories and travel brochures in English.
  • Both year groups will be looking at decimals, shape and statistics in Maths.
  • Investigating whether hand span affects grip strength in Science.
  • Discovering more about local and international settlements in Geography.
  • Developing skills relating to building structures by building a pavilion in DT.
  • Discussing economic well-being and changing bodies in Learning for Life.
  • Understanding more about Sikhism and what they believe about God in Religion and Worldviews.
  • Develop skills linked to athletics and orienteering in PE.
  • Exploring changes in pitch, tempo and dynamics in Music.
  • Recapping our learning from the year in French.

Key Information

Sports:

  • PE is every Monday and Thursday afternoon.

Weekly Home learning:

  • Children should read every day. This should be aloud to an adult at home minimum three times a week.
  • Spelling tests are every Monday. Children are also expected to complete 7 assignments a week on EdShed. A list of the spellings for this half-term can be found below.
  • Maths homework is handed out every Friday and due in the following Friday.

Copies can be found below in the Maths homework section and are uploaded weekly.

Other home learning

  • Times Table Rock Stars is also available for your children to play whenever they like.
  • Duolingo is also available for the children to practise their French skills at home

Other:

  • Our Smokey Row day is Wednesday. In KS2, we aim to visit every other week (weather and adult ratio-dependent). Our visits for Spring term are: 22nd April, 6th May, 20th May, 17th June. 1st July, 15th July.
