Welcome to Earth Class 2025-2026

Below you can find some key information about what we will be learning together this half-term.

Helpful Hints:

Please ensure that all uniform, water bottles and bags are clearly named.
In Earth class we play outside whatever the weather so please make sure your child has a suitable coat, sun hat and a water bottle (Learning through Play is thirsty work!)
Once Introduced - Reading books will be changed weekly, We aim to read with children 1-2-1 twice a week.
Once introduced - Bug Club e-books will be updated according to the phase and week the children are on.
When books are sent home, reading should be a daily occurrence. Ideally, your child should be reading aloud to an adult everyday, this should be recorded in the reading record.
Visits to Smokey Row will be on a Thursday.
PE will be on a Friday.
A Library session will take place each week.

Investigate plants and growing, naming plants in the local environment, identifying parts of a plant, exploring what plants need to grow and growing our own beanstalks!
Exploring our emotions, feelings and self-regulation strategies.
Building confidence and resilience.
Understanding the importance of respectful relationships.
Talking about Religion & Worldviews and the importance of respecting differing beliefs.
Exploring, media and materials through our 'Sowing and Growing' theme.
Building our fine motor skills through our daily handwriting sessions.
Continuing our Bug Club journey with Phase 4.
Developing our early Book Talk, Oracy Skills and Early Writing using our new stories 'Jasper's Beanstalk' and 'Oliver's Vegetables'.
Investigate numbers to 20 and beyond, solving problems with addition and subtraction and manipulating shapes during White Rose Maths lessons.
