Year 4 (Fire Class)
Happy New Year, my amazing Fire Class!
I really hope you had a wonderful Christmas with your families and had some time to relax and unwind after a jam-packed Autumn term! I'm can't wait to have you all back in school, but for now to we are moving to online learning to keep us all safe. We have lots of fun learning to look forward to this term and many, many exciting challenges to embrace.
Our main topic this term is 'Rivers and Rainforests'.
Our big question is 'Do all living things deserve respect?'
In English, we will be writing beautiful poetry about the rainforests and exciting adventures.
In Maths, we will be learning the written method for dividing 2 and 3 digit numbers by a single digit. We will also be exploring length, perimeter and area with a splash of fractions just before the half term. Busy, busy!
In Science, our theme will be animals and digestion. There is a lot of investigating, recording and sorting to be completed in this topic. I am looking forward to seeing what you discover!
In Computing, we are learning basic photo editing. In our PE sessions, we will be studying net and ball sports. During RE, our focus is considering some of the rules of Judaism . Over the course of our Music lessons, we will be composing music inspired by the past. During Art, we will be studying Henri Rousseau and creating artwork inspired by his style. In Spanish, we will be covering Epiphany celebrations and animals. During PSHE, our core theme concerns healthy relationships, with a particular focus on managing feelings and emotions.
Our key concepts for this term are: Forgiveness, Change and Life.
Finally, I hope that you are all safe and happy and I can't wait to see you all soon!
