Happy April Fool’s Day Year 2!
April Fools Day has been a day for pranks and hoaxes for centuries. So far today, I’ve been woken up with a very early alarm and found eggs with faces drawn on them in the egg box. Have you been pranked today already? If you get the chance, please write in and let me know what joking has been going on in your house. As a little gift for you to play on your family, please find attached a Jester’s Maze. Can your adults complete the maze? It is tricky!
It was lovely to get an email from Harrison yesterday showing me his learning. He has written a beautiful poem about springtime. Maybe you could try writing a poem about the spring too and we can make a Year 2 book of them when we get back to school.
It’s Wonder Wednesday, and that means I’m giving you another science experiment to do today. Our topic this term has been materials, so please have a go at exploring waterproof materials to keep your Lego house dry inside.
The extra activity today is to do a spot of indoor gardening with food scraps. I’m going to give it a go too and then maybe we can compare pictures in a few weeks. I will be extremely excited if I can manage to regrow a lettuce because I didn’t know it was possible until today. Fingers crossed for you all!
I know you are asked to read each day. If you are running out of books that are of interest to you at home, please try choosing a free reading book online using this link: https://www.oxfordowl.co.uk/for-home/find-a-book/library-page/?view=image&query=&type=book&age_group=Age+6-7&level=&level_select=&book_type=&series=#
Wishing you an astonishing Wonder Wednesday!
