Great Kimble

Church Of England School

An Academy of the Great Learners Trust

SDP Priorities

Our key priorities for this year are to ensure:

KS2 Expansion and Enhancement of Outdoor Areas

Great Kimble School will be well known in the community as an outstanding combined school and we will successfully take our first KS2 class in 2019.

School facilities and environment are improved and cater well for all pupils up to the end of KS2.

Leadership at every level

Great Kimble is a high achieving, innovative school and is in a strong position to share its outstanding practice with other schools. The Great Learners Trust provides opportunities for collaboration between schools, and staff at all levels benefit from this exchange of ideas and strategies. The expansion to KS2 opens up an opportunity to appoint an Assistant Headteacher, who will work with Mrs Cozadinos in the leadership and management of our growing school.

Enhancement of creative curriculum

All children have access to a rich, broad, balanced, creative and stimulating curriculum which meets their needs. Purposeful learning opportunities ensure pupils relate their learning to real situations and they develop skills for life. Pupils demonstrate they are resilient learners and use effective strategies to solve problems, taking a leading role in their learning.

PSHE, Equalities and Diversity

All pupils thrive in a happy and supportive environment where diverse cultures are welcomed and celebrated.

(Ofsted - To provide further opportunities for pupils to learn about people’s ways of life in multicultural Britain and in global communities.)

Supporting Learning and Challenge for All

High aspirations are held for all pupils and results remain above national and local standards. Support for learning remains strong and same day interventions impact positively on progress.

Behaviour, Health and Wellbeing

We promote good mental well-being for all pupils and ensure Great Kimble remains a safe and affirming place for all pupils. Pupils will have a greater understanding of the importance of health and wellbeing and will therefore be able to independently take positive action to improve their own health and wellbeing, now and in the future.
